What if you could help the homeless just by walking?
The Coldest Night of the Year Walk for Homelessness happens Feb. 25 across Canada. You can support the homeless of the DTES by walking 2, 5 or 10 km here in Vancouver. By walking together, we show our commitment to creating a world where homelessness is history. It's a fun, family-friendly event that has raised more than $11 million since 2011. This year, people will walk together in more than 100 communities across the country.
We are First United Church, a 60-bed overnight shelter and daytime drop-in for hundreds of people experiencing homelessness or insecure housing. We have been doing outreach in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver for more than 100 years. This will be our second year participating in the Coldest Night of the Year. Everyone had a great time last year and we're looking forward to more people and more fun this year!
Please respond by email with a PHONE NUMBER, because sometimes our emails go into people's junkmail folders, and in the case of hotmail, sometimes don't get through at all!
