About the Opportunity
The Manufacturing Manager is a key member of the manufacturing team. This newly-created role will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of manufacturing activities and product returns.
Using a dynamic and collaborative leadership style, the successful applicant will be responsible for: coordinating scheduling, logistics and procurement for the manufacture and delivery of products from off-shore contract manufacturers; working with integration partners and customers on the delivery of products; assisting with coordination of the warranty returns and processing; and, providing project management support for manufacturing related projects. Strong communication skills will be critical for this customer-interactive and team leadership role.
In this metrics- and deadline-driven environment, your primary activities will focus on the delivery and support of products for volume manufacturing. Occasional travel (1 or 2 times per year) to SE Asia, and/or United States/Mexico will be required.
Your B.A.Sc. in Computer or Electrical/Electronics Engineering is complemented with at least 10 years' experience in a front-line manufacturing role for an electronics manufacturing organization, and as such, you can demonstrate a strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes at both the board and system/box levels. Your P.Eng. is preferred, and an MBA will be considered an asset. You may have started your career in manufacturing engineering, with a more recent focus on building leadership skills through supply chain management, and are now looking to take a step forward in your career to expand your management scope and skills.
