The chosen candidate will be based at our downtown Vancouver office.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Vice President - Corporate Relations, the Policy Advisor - Corporate Relations will support the activities of Corporate Relations in the advocacy and policy work in support of the company's business interests in both the Canadian and US markets.
Main responsibilities are as follow:
Draft briefing notes and policy positions;
Assist in engagement/consultation with stakeholders, industry partners and government;
Track and monitor policy and legislative developments;
Support policy engagement work with government and industry associations;
Draft analysis of potential impacts to the company from policy and legislative changes;
Research market and policy developments pertaining to the company's business activities in the Canadian and US markets and in other jurisdictions, as required;
Read and review externally-produced reports and write summaries;
Maintain current knowledge of regulations, standards, and best management practices pertaining to the renewable energy industry;
Support the Corporate Relations business unit in meetings including, but not limited to, attending and participating, taking minutes and writing summaries;
Assist in the development of presentations and external materials;
Other tasks to support the activities of the Vice President - Corporate Relations, as required.

Organized, proactive, and meticulous;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken);
Capacity to work under pressure with tight deadlines in a context of changing priorities;
Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams and interact with diverse stakeholders;
Eagerness to learn and join an experienced team.
Undergraduate degree or diploma;
Experience with energy policy and regulatory process in the natural resources sector (renewable energy-specific experience an asset);
Experience with provincial, state and federal regulatory agencies and permitting requirements;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, with emphasis on MS Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
