Our client in Richmond is seeking experienced mechanics for full-time roles in their warehouse and shipping facility. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair and replace damaged or worn parts on vehicles and equipment, and test drive mobile equipment after repairs to ensure proper performance;
Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects and diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs (use of engine diagnostic if applicable);
Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hand and air tools;
Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work;
Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges;
Schedule maintenance for mobile equipment and keep equipment service records;
Read and understand OEM operating manuals and repair manuals, using them to maximum advantage.
KEYS TO SUCCESS:
Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization;
Communicate and cooperate with Supervisors and Co-Workers, reporting any discrepancies or unsafe work behaviors;
Complete Equipment Pre Trip Inspection Checklists (Daily);
Follow Safe Work Procedures/Practices and comply with Safe Operating Procedures of Mobile Equipment;
Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task;
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
