The HR department is looking for a permanent full time Human Resources Administrative Assistant. We are seeking an individual with a passion for taking on challenges, can manage a flexible schedule and interested in joining The Albion Farms and Fisheries Team.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the successful candidate would perform the following:

Human Resources

- Assist with Recruitment and Selection process (job postings, prescreening candidates, interviews, preparing job offer letters

- Promoting corporate culture and answering day to day HR related questions

- Assist with conflict management and disciplinary processes

- Participate in Health & Safety meeting

- Help employees fill out necessary Benefits claims forms for reimbursement

- Participate in Social Committee and help with organizing events

- Perform orientation for new employees

- Maintain HR records and ensure strict confidentiality on employee info

- Assist employees with Benefits enrollment/changes online

- Other duties as required


- Onboard new employees and enter into HRIS (Ceridian)

- Track benefits eligibility for employees

- Calculate annual increases for all employees and coordinate with Grand Rapids

-Submit/Calculate WorkSafe quarterly invoice

- Issue Record of Employment

- Administer MSP information for employees

- Answer payroll/benefits inquiries

- Calculate MSP rates each year and send to Grand Rapids

- Update ICBC/WorkSafe queries

- Fill out Long Term Disability claim forms

- Prepare financial reports for various department managers as requested

- Sorting and distribution of payroll

- Prepare supervisor's pay for performance report to ensure monthly bonuses are paid

- Various filing and keeping employee files updated

- Sign off on all payroll timecards in Time Management System (Kronos)


- Certificate/Diploma in Human Resources or Accounting

- 2 years of related work experience in Human Resources or Accounting

- Experience with Ceridian an asset

- Knowledge of basic employment law

- Experience with benefits administration

- Passion and motivation to create positive corporate culture

- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Detailed oriented and team player
