The Arts Connection in Richmond is in need of a school-aged care professional starting August 2018 and continuing through June 2019, with the possibility for continuing employment next summer. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with children ages 5-12 and be very responsible with a high attention to detail. The position is from 2:00 PM-6:00 PM M-F during the school year, with full days during school professional development days and non-stat holidays. Benefits are available after 3 months of employment, including paid sick leave and extended health care. We may be able to arrange an earlier summer starting date if desired. $17-$18/hr, depending on experience.
-Snack preparation and serving
-Student pick-up at area elementary schools (using Arts Connection buses and bus drivers)
-teaching classes in a variety of subjects, TBD
-General care and supervision of students, including tidying the classrooms after classes, gathering of materials, and lesson planning
-communicating with parents
-Other duties as assigned
A clean criminal record check and the ability to obtain First Aid certification is required. A Responsible Adult course is required if the applicant does not have any prior child-related coursework, but the course will be paid by The Arts Connection if the candidate stays for at least 1 year.
